Product description

The perfect modeling package. You'd express your problem quickly in a highly readable form - store data in a style that's easy to read and edit - and solve a diverse variety of problems. LINGO just may be the perfect modeling package. It gives you all that, and much more.

Versatility - the LINGO Solvers

LINGO is equipped with fast internal solvers for large scale linear, nonlinear and integer models. You can even incorporate binary and general integers in your problems. And with LINGO you never have to specify or load a separate solver, because LINGO reads your formulation and automatically selects the appropriate one.

Powerful Modeling Environment

LINGO lets you express your most complex models in a simple, efficient, intuitive manner. Formulate your model explicitly - or use LINGO's modeling language to represent it much as in mathematical notation with subscripted variables, making your model extremely compact and easy to read. Use LINGO's extensive library of common mathematical, probability, and financial functions - or you can create your own custom functions in C or FORTRAN. The Windows version of LINGO/PC includes a multi-windowing editor for fast interactive modeling.

Easy Data Handling

LINGO lets you store data in a variety of convenient ways. Embed it directly in your model, or keep it in list or table form in a separate file. This makes reading and modifying the data much easier. The PC version can even take data from spreadsheet files-and output the solution to a worksheet, making report generation easy.

Key Features

  • Comprehensive modeling language allows the expression of the formulation in natural mathematical form
  • Powerful linear, nonlinear and integer solvers seamlessly linked to a model generator
  • Full-screen editor for easy model generation and modification in PC versions
  • PC versions allow output to a spreadsheet file
  • Extensive library of built-in statistical, financial, and commonly used mathematical functions
  • Capable of expressing a series of similar constraints in a single statement
  • Data can be stored in the model, an external file, or a spreadsheet file
  • Recognizes subscripted variables and sets, and allows a variety of operations over sets
  • Accepts generalized expressions including those with parentheses and variables and expressions on the right-hand-side
  • Reads and writes LINDO TAKE files and capable of saving models in standard MPS format
  • Variable names can contain up to 32 characters
